Hey guys,

the family visited last weekend and we visited the Sealife aquarium and the Drachenfels castle. I just want to tell you a bit about my weekend and show some pictures.

I last visited the Sealife last year in November as I waited for our landlord to decide if he wanted us as renters :) The Sealife in Königswinter offers nice animals and is perfect for children.

That’s why we visited again last weekend. As I am hardly seen without it, I had my camera with me – somehow, I can’t leave the house without it  :D

I soon realized that I am not an underwater photographer – at least not from outside the water. It’s fun but I can say so much: People will stay my passionate subjects to photograph :)

The water makes it difficult to focus and it’s dark in the aquarium. So I had to focus manually – thanks to my recent Canon autofocus issue for all the practice with that :D In addition I had to choose really high ISO settings.

My favorite by far where the jellyfish tanks. I love those slimy looking animals. And the colored light made them look even more beautiful. I was really fascinated!

Another thing I enjoyed really much was the last room. There was a huge tank with ray, cat sharks and some other animals who like to stick their head out of the water. So there was something to look at outside the water and not only through glas. And all this only an arm’s length away even if you wouldn’t stick your hand in a tank with sharks, would you?

But you were allowed to touch some animals like starfish and crabs. They feel so funny! I feel like a child when experiencing new stuff like that. :D

Here are some of the photos I took:

Afterwards we visited the Drachenfels with it’s castle and Germany’s oldest cog railroad. There was a beautiful view but the wind was icy and they still haven’t finished building the new building… They gonna replace the concrete block with some modern glass building – we’ll see if this is better…

However, I took some photos there, too:

I hope you, too, had a gorgeous weekend and wish you a wonderful start into the new week!

Be yourself! Be wonderful!

Kate
