Christmas craziness and looking back

Hey there!

I had a wonderful christmas and hope you can say the same about yours. I took some pictures over the weekend and wanna show them to you today.

Christmas without snow

When I looked outside the windows of the train I hoped for snow. Every once in a while I looked out and saw the same grayish-green nothingness… I realized that it’d be Christmas without snow.

I started to remember the Christmas Eves with my family where the Christmas tree was decorated together and the glowing of the children’s eyes could easily compete with the Christmas trees’ many lights. One was happy and couldn’t wait to eat Christmas dinner and get the presents and sing and laugh and talk all night.

To be honest, without snow I wasn’t really feeling like christmas but the oven and the Christmas tree at my boyfriend’s parents’ home solved that problem soon :)

But for me the time around Christmas is not about Christmas. It’s about reflecting and looking back. It’s about thinking what was good and bad this year and what needs to be changed. While Mike Larson and his wife drive to the mountains to write a to-do-list, I use the end of the year to realize what I wanna change, what I wanna keep and what needs to be done.

Waiting for Christmas Eve

While I was waiting for Christmas Eve dinner I took some pictures of the Christmas tree decoration.

(About the last one: Never ever give your camera to someone else :D )

Christmas Eve

25th of December – a photo session and a lot of rain

I’ll tell you about the 25th of december when I show you the photos of Annika and Markus later this week.

But the evening was real fun! We played pantomime and tried to explain words like watermelon, parasitic wasp cocoon and stuff like that :) Watermelon could only be solved because my sister depended on my knowledge of dirty dancing (“I carried a water melon…”).

And now I am sitting in the train back home and hoping you are not yet bored be my chrismas talk :)

Enjoy the rest of this year and if you like use it to reflect on your year 2011  :) I won’t be working till 6th of January so don’t wonder if I’m not online that much.

Love,

Kate
